More Daycare Centres to be Built at Factories

More daycare centres will be established at factories and enterprises to help taking care of female workers’ babies while they work, which is in line with the Royal Government of Cambodia’s concept.

Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet raised the plan at the inauguration ceremony of a Daycare Centre of Marvel Garment Co., Ltd. located in the Royal Group Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone in Khan Pursenchey, Phnom Penh this morning.

“We can proudly say that this work has progressed and we are working more on this. In the future, factories and enterprises with 100 employees or more will have a daycare centre in accordance with the Labour Law of the Kingdom of Cambodia,” he underlined.

Moreover, the Premier explained that the establishment of daycare centres in factories and enterprises is an important investment because female workers and their babies are the family of the company, factory, and enterprise.

Besides, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet advised against setting up daycare centres near factory production lines to avoid affecting the health of infants.

The Prime Minister also reiterated the commitment of the 7th-mandate Royal Government to continue carrying out the policies in favour of workers, especially pregnant workers, during their pregnancy and after their delivery until their babies reach the age of two years old.
