H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, held a courtesy meeting and working discussion on Mar. 26 with Dr. In Channy, President and Group Managing Director of ACLEDA Bank Plc., to strengthen cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism and ACLEDA Bank.
The discussion centred on enhancing services related to payment systems, streamlining the tourist visa application process through information technology, and expanding additional services beyond visa facilitation.
Both parties explored ways to support the tourism sector through financial assistance, including loans for tourism businesses, particularly in key government-prioritised areas such as Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, Kep, and Mondulkiri. They also discussed potential collaborations with tourism communities, leveraging ACLEDA Bank’s KHQR payment system, and offering Merchant OD loans to facilitate business operations.
H.E. Huot Hak emphasised the implementation of high-level recommendations made by Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister on Mar. 22, 2025, during the official opening of the 9th River Festival in Takeo province.
He urged ACLEDA Bank to assess the feasibility of providing loans at reasonable interest rates to support tourism communities. Additionally, he requested the bank to help promote Cambodia’s tourism potential through its website and mobile app, particularly in connection with its annual business trips and tourism events.
ACLEDA Bank was also encouraged to organise tourism trips to community-based destinations, especially during the Green Season, to boost local tourism.
