The Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, has expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing cooperation between the Cambodian and Malaysian armies and encouraged both sides to continue enhancing their collaboration at bilateral and regional levels.
The Premier made the remarks when he received a courtesy call by H.E. Gen. Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Muhammad Hafizuddeain Bin Jantan, Chief of the Malaysian Army, at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh this afternoon.
Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister emphasised the importance of strengthening military ties through joint training, disaster relief exercises, counter-terrorism cooperation, and the exchange of successful experiences — areas he identified as essential for deepening the friendship between the two armed forces.
For his part, H.E. Gen. Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Muhammad Hafizuddeain Bin Jantan commended Cambodia for its rapid development across all sectors, particularly in the military field. He also briefed the Prime Minister on the positive outcomes of his discussions with Cambodian military leaders.
The Malaysian Army Chief reaffirmed his commitment to further advancing cooperation through experience-sharing and training programes. He also expressed Malaysia’s interest in learning from Cambodia’s expertise in United Nations peacekeeping missions and mine clearance operations.
H.E. Gen. Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Muhammad Hafizuddeain Bin Jantan is paying an official five-day visit to Cambodia, from April 19 to 23, at the invitation of General Mao Sophan, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army.
