NPIC Earns Prominent Status After 20-Year Service

As it celebrates its 20th anniversary, the National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia (NPIC) is recognised as a leading institute of the country, offering high-standard vocational training to over 20,000 students.

Minister of Labour and Vocational Training H.E. Hen Sour and Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Cambodia commended the outstanding performance of NPIC, located in Phnom Penh, when co-chairing its two-decade endeavour on May 12.

Over the past 20 years, NPIC has become a prominent professional training institution nationally and internationally recognised thanks to its highly professional training using modern technology while ensuring a productive learning environment, said H.E. Minister.

He added that students who graduated from NPIC have proved themselves as skilled professionals with strong work ethics, earning trust and appreciation from local and international companies and agencies that employed them.

H.E. Hen Sour thanked the government of the Republic of Korea for supporting NPIC, considering it a key milestone of the cooperation between Cambodia and the Republic of Korea.

Launched in 2005 with only 200 students pursuing eight majors, NPIC is currently training about 7,800 students majoring in 25 different vocational skills.

As of 2024, more than 13,000 have successfully graduated from the institute, contributing significantly to the government’s TVET 1.5M programme aimed at providing vocational training to 1.5 million youth, especially those from poor and vulnerable families.

The celebration of NPIC’s 20th anniversary also featured the fourth job fair for 2025.
