H.E. Ouch Borith, First Vice President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia and high representative of Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, this morning conducted a humanitarian mission to support 374 families displaced by the recent escalating tensions along the Cambodia-Thailand border.
The families have sought temporary refuge at Sovankiri pagoda, also known as Chheb pagoda, in Chheb district, Preah Vihear province.
During the visit, H.E. Ouch Borith delivered heartfelt messages of solidarity and encouragement from Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Cambodian Red Cross President Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen.
He underscored the leadership’s deep concern for the well-being of all Cambodians, particularly those affected by conflict and the soldiers defending the nation’s borders.
“The national leadership profoundly understands the hardships endured by our people,” H.E. Ouch Borith stated. “We share the pain of those forced to leave their homes, properties, livestock, and livelihoods due to the unwarranted aggression by recent Thai military forces on Cambodian soil.”
H.E. Ouch Borith distributed essential relief supplies, including food and personal care items, to alleviate the immediate needs of the displaced families. He emphasised that the suffering of these citizens resonates with the entire nation, with the Cambodian leadership and people standing in solidarity through both moral and material support.
The First Vice President also paid tribute to the bravery and patriotism of frontline soldiers protecting the Cambodia-Thailand border, extending encouragement to their families. He called for national unity, urging all Cambodians—whether on the frontlines or in support from afar—to transform adversity into resilience and collective strength.
In closing, H.E. Ouch Borith rallied the public to support the Royal Government, led by Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, in safeguarding Cambodia’s sovereignty and national dignity.
