The Cambodia-Thailand Joint Coordinating Task Force (JCTF) on Humanitarian Demining held its second meeting via VTC on Oct. 9 to continue discussions on the preparation of the JCTF Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), following two rounds of exchanges and revisions by both sides.
The update was shared by H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia.
She underlined that the preparation of the SOP aims to ensure a standardised operating framework while safeguarding sovereignty and territorial integrity, based on the principle of mutual respect. In particular, she added, this cooperation will contribute to socio-economic development and protect the lives of people in areas affected by landmines and unexploded ordnance left over from war.
The Cambodia-Thailand JCTF was established in accordance with the outcome of the First Special Meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC) held on Sept. 10, 2025, in Koh Kong province, Cambodia.
