“Cambodia Muslim Friendly” Book Launched to Promote Muslim Tourism Growth in Cambodia

The “Cambodia Muslim Friendly” book was officially launched on Oct. 9 during the opening ceremony of the Cambodia Muslim Tourism Forum and Fair 2025, serving as an important guide to promote the growth of Muslim tourism in Cambodia.

According to the Ministry of Tourism, the publication aims to support the development and promotion of Muslim tourism. It highlights Cambodia’s readiness to establish Muslim-friendly tourism destinations and businesses that warmly welcome Muslim tourists, in line with the Muslim Tourism Development Plan (2023-2027).

Phnom Penh is hosting the Cambodia Muslim Tourism Forum and Fair 2025 from Oct. 9 to 11 at Al-Serkal Mosque (Boeung Kak Mosque) under the theme “Assalamu Alaikum Cambodia: A Safe, Warm, and Friendly Destination.”

Addressing the opening ceremony, H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, expressed strong confidence that the Cambodia Muslim Tourism Forum and Fair 2025 will yield fruitful outcomes in enhancing and promoting broader awareness of Cambodian culture, traditions, and religious harmony, as well as people-to-people exchanges. The event, he said, will also showcase Cambodia’s tourism potential to Islamic countries, contributing to strengthened cooperation in the tourism sector and expanding diplomatic and friendship ties between Cambodia and Islamic nations.

“This reaffirms the image of ‘The Kingdom of Cambodia: A Safe, Warm, and Friendly Destination’,” H.E. Minister underlined.

The three-day event features nearly 100 booths showcasing tourism products and services, including embassies, halal food and accommodation providers, tour packages, airlines, clothing, cosmetics, and various other products.

Through the forum and fair, Cambodia demonstrates its commitment to seizing opportunities and diversifying tourism markets to strengthen and expand the country’s tourism potential. By attracting the Muslim tourism market alongside existing international markets, Cambodia aims to promote sustainable, inclusive, and resilient tourism development.
