Senior diplomats from the United States and South Korea met in Phnom Penh on Thursday to coordinate efforts against organised transnational crime and bolster regional security, according to a statement from the U.S. Embassy.
Ms. Bridgette L. Walker, Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Cambodia, hosted newly appointed South Korean Ambassador H.E. Kim Changyong to discuss bilateral cooperation within the Kingdom.
Together, they discussed how the United States and the Republic of Korea are working to combat transnational organised crime, support a long-term peaceful resolution to the border conflict, and support Cambodia’s development to contribute to regional security and mutual prosperity, the U.S. Embassy shared.
“We look forward to continued cooperation between our two missions in the Kingdom of Cambodia,” the embassy underlined.
The meeting also served as a formal welcome for Ambassador Kim, who recently presented his credentials to His Majesty the King of Cambodia.
