Cambodia has once again called on Thailand to immediately address and halt a series of actions by Thai forces that constitute serious violations of Cambodia’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty, according to a statement released this morning by the Press and Quick Reaction Unit (Press OCM).
The statement noted that Thai forces have carried out multiple activities along disputed border areas that undermine Cambodia’s sovereignty and pose threats to civilian security.
These actions reportedly include the installation of barbed wire, the placement of shipping containers, the planting of Thai national flags inside Cambodian territory, as well as the construction of trenches and other military fortifications.
The Press OCM also reported the destruction of civilian homes and private property belonging to Cambodian citizens by Thai forces, describing such actions as unacceptable and in clear violation of international law, bilateral agreements, and the principles governing peaceful relations between neighbouring states.
