Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has highly commended the Indonesian Ambassador to Cambodia for his strong efforts in nurturing and advancing bilateral relations between the two countries.
H.E. Chea Thyrith, Spokesperson of the Senate, conveyed the remarks following a courtesy and farewell call paid by H.E. Santo Darmosumarto, outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Cambodia, a the Solidarity Palace in Phnom Penh this morning.
During the meeting, Samdech Techo highly appreciated the ambassador’s role and dedication during his tenure in Cambodia, particularly his efforts in strengthening and expanding Cambodia-Indonesia relations.
The Senate President also extended his sincere thanks for the successful organisation of his official visit to Indonesia in May, noting the warm reception accorded by the President of Indonesia and commending the excellent arrangements.
For his part, Ambassador Santo Darmosumarto praised the strong progress in cooperation between the two countries across nearly all sectors and emphasised that throughout his diplomatic mission in Cambodia, he had worked diligently to further consolidate and strengthen bilateral relations.
The ambassador highlighted the importance of high-level exchanges between the leaders of both countries, noting that he had facilitated the official visit of Indonesian President Prabowo to Cambodia, as well as Samdech Techo’s visit to Indonesia. These exchanges, he said, clearly reflect the close and friendly ties between both nations.
Samdech Techo expressed his satisfaction with the ambassador’s remarks and further highlighted Indonesia’s historical role in contributing to Cambodia’s peace process, particularly the promotion of the Paris Peace Agreements of Oct. 23, 1991, which played a crucial role in paving the way for peace in Cambodia. These achievements, he said, stand as enduring outcomes of the strong and friendly relations between Cambodia and Indonesia.
