Labour Minister H.E. Heng Sour Delivers PM’s Lunar New Year Gifts to Frontline Troops in Preah Vihear

In a continued show of gratitude and remembrance for the nation’s frontline defenders, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training H.E. Heng Sour led a delegation on April 10 to visit and deliver gifts from Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and the First Lady Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, to the troops of Intervention Brigade No. 7 stationed in Preah Vihear province.

The mission, undertaken ahead of the traditional Khmer New Year, which ushers in the Year of the Horse, was to honour the soldiers safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity along the border.

Minister H.E. Heng Sour conveyed warm and heartfelt greetings from Acting Head of State Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and Cambodian Red Cross President Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, as well as from the Prime Minister and First Lady.

He underscored the leadership’s unwavering attention to the well-being and living conditions of the troops on the front line. The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training has consistently mobilised resources, essential supplies, and food provisions to ease hardships and boost the morale of the heroic soldiers.

“On behalf the Ministry’s leadership, civil servants, and representatives of unions, factories, enterprises, and workers, we truly remember your bravery and are forever grateful for your sacrifices of flesh and blood for the peace of our nation,” Minister Heng Sour stated, expressing profound admiration for the valor of all personnel along the Cambodia-Thailand border, particularly those of the 7th Intervention Brigade.

The Minister highlighted that strengthening the bond between state institutions and the front lines is a direct implementation of the Royal Government’s policy to fortify national defence under the motto: “National defence for all, all for national defence.” Since 2008, the Ministry has maintained this fraternal partnership by visiting its affiliated military unit twice annually – before the Khmer New Year and the Pchum Ben (Ancestors’) Festival – each time delivering gifts and supplies.

H.E. Heng Sour also took the opportunity to outline recent progress and achievements in the labour and vocational training sector, accomplished under the astute leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet. These successes, he noted, contribute significantly to maintaining peace, political stability, and sustained national economic development, which in turn improves the livelihoods of the Cambodian people.

The delegation formally presented the Prime Minister and First Lady’s gifts to Intervention Brigade No. 7, including food, essential supplies, and a monetary contribution. The gesture served to reinforce the solidarity between the home front and the battlefront, encouraging the troops as they prepare to celebrate the upcoming traditional New Year with joy and warmth.
