U.S. Companies Show Strong Interest in Expanding Investment in Cambodia

More than 180 leading American companies represented by the U.S.-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) have expressed strong interest in expanding investment in Cambodia, underscoring growing confidence in the Kingdom’s economic potential and improving Cambodia-U.S. relations.

The message was shared by Mr. Brian D. McFeeters, President and Chief Executive Officer of the USABC, during a courtesy meeting with Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of Cambodia, at the Senate’s Solidarity Palace in Phnom Penh on July 21.

According to H.E. Chea Thyrith, Spokesperson for the Senate, Mr. McFeeters said the USABC represents more than 180 member companies, many of which are actively seeking investment opportunities across ASEAN, with Cambodia emerging as one of their key destinations.

Mr. McFeeters noted that relations between Cambodia and the U.S. are progressing positively, creating favourable conditions for stronger business engagement.

Speaking on behalf of the U.S. private sector, Mr. McFeeters reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to supporting greater investment in Cambodia as a way to further strengthen bilateral economic ties.

He added that the American business delegation visiting Cambodia aims to explore new investment opportunities and expand existing operations in the Kingdom. The delegation included representatives from major multinational companies such as Ford, SC Johnson, and Coca-Cola, along with several other leading American firms.

For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen welcomed the delegation and expressed his satisfaction with the continued improvement in Cambodia-U.S. relations. He encouraged more American companies to invest in Cambodia, stressing that economic cooperation, trade, and investment remain the cornerstone of bilateral relations.

Samdech Techo also noted that U.S. investment in Cambodia has increasingly focused on sectors that support the country’s long-term development priorities, including logistics, healthcare, education, and technology, all of which contribute to innovation and sustainable economic growth.

He expressed optimism that bilateral trade and investment between Cambodia and the United States would continue to expand in the years ahead.

Trade between Cambodia and the U.S. reached more than US$7.4 billion in the first half of 2026, up 31.4 percent year-on-year, according to the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia. The Council for the Development of Cambodia has classified the U.S. as one of the top ten foreign investors in the Kingdom in the first semester of 2026.
