Cambodia’s Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet today expressed concern over what he described as “anarchic acts” circulating on social media platforms.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Techo Santepheap Dormitory and related achievements at Preah Sihanouk Raja Buddhist University, located at Svay Pope Pagoda in Phnom Penh, the Prime Minister criticized certain social media users for engaging in immoral behavior that violates Khmer traditions, cultural values, and the rights of others — all in pursuit of views and financial gain.
“If we ignore these immoral actions, problems will inevitably arise,” Samdech Thipadei warned. “These behaviors do not represent the Cambodian people as a whole.”
He urged the public to actively promote positive and constructive messages to counter negative narratives about Cambodia and uphold the country’s image.
The Prime Minister further emphasized that every citizen has a responsibility to maintain good conduct, moral integrity, and ethical values. Such virtues, he noted, are essential to fostering a harmonious and sustainable society in the Kingdom.
