The Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia has firmly denied reports circulating on Thai social media and news outlets on Sept. 26 alleging that “Cambodia has mobilised troops and weapons,” accompanied by several images.
According to H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence, the allegations are false. She explained that the images used in those reports are outdated and not taken on the day of publication.
The spokeswoman reaffirmed that the Cambodian armed forces have not undertaken any provocative actions or activities that would violate the ceasefire agreement, contrary to what has been claimed by the aforementioned sources.
She further reiterated the Cambodian armed forces’ strong commitment to fully respecting and implementing the ceasefire agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, and will continue to cooperate closely at all levels to seek practical collaboration aimed at enhancing peace and stability between the two countries, as well as ensuring a swift return to normalcy.
