The Cambodian Red Cross (CRC) is mobilising a significant humanitarian relief effort, providing essential assistance to 1,850 families displaced by flash floods in the eastern provinces of Mondulkiri and Rattanakiri.
The decision to provide the urgent aid was made by Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the CRC, for families currently sheltering at designated safe sites. Of the total beneficiaries, 950 families are in Mondulkiri and 900 are in Rattanakiri.
The relief distribution is scheduled to take place over two days, from Sept. 27 to 28, 2025. CRC officials from both the headquarters and provincial branches will oversee the delivery of the aid packages.
In Mondulkiri province, the 950 beneficiary families are located across two districts: Keo Seima and Koh Nhek with 159 and 791 families, respectively, while in Rattanakiri province, the 900 beneficiary families are to be distributed to 400 families in Koun Mom and 500 families in Lumphat districts.
Each affected family will receive a comprehensive package of emergency supplies, including 30 kilograms of rice, one case of instant noodles, ten cans of canned fish, six bottles of soy sauce, and one bottle of cooking oil, as well as one pack of detergent and a vital living kit containing a mosquito net, blanket, mat, and scarf.
