Senate President Calls on Frontline Forces to Exercise Patience Amid Provocations

Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has called on all frontline forces to remain patient despite continuous provocation from invading forces, who he said have used various weapons to fire into Cambodia since yesterday, last night, and this morning in an apparent attempt to prompt retaliation and undermine the ceasefire and the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Declaration on Peace Deal.

“The red line has been set. Please, commanders at all levels, inform all soldiers,” Samdech Techo Hun Sen stated in a social media post this morning, urging authorities at all levels to make every effort to assist civilians who have fled from danger zones to safer areas.

The Senate President added that he had canceled all other scheduled programmes in order to accompany the Prime Minister in commanding the armed forces to counter the invasion. He expressed his apologies to national and international guests who were unable to meet him as a result.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also encouraged Cambodian athletes to continue participating in the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.
