Draft Law on Amendment to Trade Union Law Approved


The weekly cabinet meeting has endorsed the draft law on amendment to the Articles 3, 17, 20, 21, 27, 28, 29, 54, 55 and 59 of the Trade Union Law, according to H.E. Phay Siphan, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister and Chairman of Royal Government Spokesperson Unit.

The plenary meeting took place here at the Peace Palace this morning under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.

The draft law will enhance the freedom of professional organisations of domestic workers, simplify the procedures for trade union registration, promote the rights and roles of trade unions, etc.

The request for approval from the cabinet ministers to submit the United Nations’ Straddling Fish Stocks Agreement to the legislative body for approval is also part of the meeting’s agenda.
