Museums, Cinemas, and Theatres Temporarily Closed Down for Two Weeks

All museums, cinemas and theatres throughout the country will be shut down for two weeks to contain and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The closure was announced this morning by the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, adding that it takes effect from today onwards.

The move was made after the outbreak of community transmission on Nov. 28, 2020.

Last night, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports issued two separate directives – one on the end of 2019-2020 academic year for all public schools on Nov. 30, and the other one on the temporary shutdown of all private schools for two weeks, while the lower secondary school and high school exams will take place as scheduled – on Nov. 30 and on Dec. 21, respectively.

As of this morning, Cambodia reported 323 confirmed cases, of which 14 are related to the Nov. 28 Community Event; and 301 or 93.20 percent have been successfully cured.
