Cambodia Attending Workshop and 4th Asia-EU International Agriculture Exhibition

Cambodia is attending a workshop and the 4th Asia-EU International Agriculture Exhibition, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

The virtual meeting taking place from Dec. 14 to 17 attracted delegates from 20 countries in Asia, Europe and Africa, and representatives from international organisations, education institutions and the private sector.

Addressing the opening of the event on Dec. 14 as an Honorary Co-Chair, H.E. Veng Sakhon, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, spoke highly of Huehe International Business Consultancy for organising the event, adding that it will contribute significantly to promoting modernisation of agriculture and triggering collaboration, partnership opportunity and investment opportunities.

The minister continued that it is well aligned with the ministry’s policy and agricultural development strategic plan in promoting modern, competitive, inclusive, and climate resilient agriculture following the state-development partners-private sector-community approach.

H.E. Veng Sakhon underlined the Cambodian government’s efforts in supporting economy and food security, battered by COVID-19 crisis by fostering domestic agricultural productivity and encouraging provision of low-interest loans for farmers and small and medium enterprises.

He also thanked the Government of China for its Road and Belt Initiative driving more investment and rapid development of infrastructures in Cambodia.
