Cambodia has asked India to boost investment on four key sectors including saffron planting agriculture, health, information technology (IT), and telecommunications.
The request was made by H.E. Cham Prasidh, Senior Minister and Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation in his recent meeting with H.E. Dr. Devyani Uttam Khobragade, newly appointed Indian Ambassador to Cambodia at the ministry office in Phnom Penh early this week.
H.E. Cham Prasidh congratulated H.E. Dr. Devyani Uttam Khobragade on his new assignment in Cambodia, underlining that relations and collaboration between the two countries will further blossom during her diplomatic mission in the country.
The senior minister also proposed the Indian side to help support the ministry as well as to provide training for Cambodian students on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
He spoke highly of long-lasting relations and cooperation between Cambodia and India in all sectors, especially diplomacy, economics, politics and culture.
From her end, H.E. Dr. Devyani Uttam Khobragade expressed her delight of the diplomatic missions in the country, stressing that she will do her best to advance the relations and cooperation between the two nations.
She also pledged to help Cambodia benefit from Mekong-Ganga Cooperation to contribute to development of small- and medium- sized enterprises and corporations in the country.
