Over 10,000 Locations Registered for QR Code “Stop COVID”

As of this morning, at 11:30, a total of 10,366 public and private institutions, restaurants, hotels, factories and so on have registered to implement QR Code “Stop COVID” introduced on Feb. 20 following the 3rd community outbreak dubbed Feb. 20 Community Event.

The update was shared by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MPTC) on its official Facebook page this afternoon, adding that at the same time, the public have scanned the QR Code 107,696 times.

The introduction of QR Code “Stop COVID”, another measure to contain and prevent the spread of the pandemic, is aimed to record the movements of customers, visitors and staff at those locations, explained the Ministry of Health in a recent press release.

The system does not track the privacy of each individual, but make it easier for the health authorities to locate people involved if any positive cases of COVID-19 are found in those locations, it underlined.

QR Code “Stop COVID” can be downloaded at https: //stopcovid.gov.kh, the source said, continuing that after getting the code, the institutions can print and paste it on their entry-exit, so the public can scan it with their smartphones when they check-in and check-out.
