The National Election Committee (NEC) has announced its preparation process for the 5th Commune/Sangkat Council Election 2022.
In the committee’s announcement issued on Feb. 15, the official Commune/Sangkat Council Election will take place on June 5, 2022.
H.E. Prach Chan, NEC President, underlined that the 5th Commune/Sangkat Council Election 2022 is estimated to cost over US$43 million, which is lower than the Commune/Sangkat Council Election in 2017.
According to the official voter list, Cambodia has in total 9,205,681 eligible voters, of them 4,904,832 are women.
The figure represents 87.94 percent of the total population aged 18 years up, who will go to vote at 23,602 designated polling stations across Cambodia.
