Cambodia, Korea Discuss Environmental ODA Cooperation


The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Korea (RoK) have discussed Environmental ODA Cooperation between the two countries.

The discussion was held here on April 19 between H.E. Chhieng Yanara, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister and Secretary General of the Cambodian Rehabilitation and Development Board of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CRDB/CDC) and Mr. Jechul Yoo, President of Korean Environmental Industry and Technology Institute (KEITI), said a CDC’s press release made public this morning.

According to the source, in the meeting, H.E. Chhieng Yanara expressed his appreciation to the RoK Government and its people for the strong cooperation and partnerships that have been contributing to the socio-economic development of Cambodia.

He highlighted the impressive achievements of the Royal Government of Cambodia, under the wise and visionary leadership of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, for the successful and effective implementation of government measures and intervention to address the COVID-19 pandemic, reopen the country, and reactivate the economic activities across all sectors.

Mr. Jechul Yoo expressed his pleasure in undertaking the mission in Cambodia to take part in signing of MOU with the Ministry of Water Resource and Meteorology on the “Master Plan of ICT-based Water Resource Management and Development in Cambodia” under the grant assistance from the RoK on April 18.

The KEITI president further commended that Cambodia is a strategic partner and a high priority country in development cooperation and reaffirmed its position to continue to support Cambodia’s development through the guidance of Country Partnership Strategy (CPS 2021-2025) and Environmental ODA Cooperation (E-ODA).

Mr. Jechul Yoo also reaffirmed that the cooperation between the two countries will be constantly strengthened and expanded within the prioritised sectors especially environmental sector.
