Cambodian Prime Minister Receives Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee


Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen this morning received visiting H.E. Dinh Tien Dung, Political Bureau Member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee.

According to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian Premier, during the courtesy meeting held here at the Peace Palace, H.E. Dinh Tien Dung conveyed greetings from the Vietnamese leaders to Samdech Techo Hun Sen, highly valued Cambodia’s successful efforts in containing and preventing the COVID-19 pandemic, and shared the current COVID-19 situation in Hanoi.

H.E. Dinh Tien Dung also expressed his commitment to further enhance the cooperation and friendship between Phnom Penh and Hanoi.

In reply, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his appreciation over the current progress of Cambodia-Vietnam relationship.

The Prime Minister said the Cambodia-Vietnam bilateral trade surpassed US$5 billion, and encouraged more cooperation to further increase the two-way trade, especially to help transform former battlefields into special economic zones, trade areas, and so on.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also urged Hanoi and Phnom Penh to further check the possibility to boost their relations and cooperation.
