Cambodia, IOM Appreciate Productive Immigration Collaboration

Cambodia and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) have appreciated their good cooperation, especially on immigration promotion in Cambodia.

The appreciation was made in a meeting between Samdech Krolahom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and visiting Dr. Nenette Motus, Regional Director for IOM in Asia and the Pacific here in Phnom Penh on April 26.

Samdech Krolahom Sar Kheng underlined the Royal Government of Cambodia’s effort in addressing immigration issues in Cambodia.

The deputy prime minister recalled that during the COVID-19 crisis, people were crossing the Cambodian-Thai border and those issues were addressed through active contribution from IOM.

From her end, Dr. Nenette Motus spoke highly of the Royal Government of Cambodia as well as the Ministry of Interior for the great achievement in addressing immigration issues and for the good cooperation with IOM since 1993.

She also congratulated the Royal Government for its effective containment of COVID-19 and vaccination campaign.
