Social Pension: Another Step of Cambodia Social Security Development


The social security pension scheme is a new step of Cambodia’s social security development.

The remarks were made by H.E. Ith Samheng, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training and President of the Board of Directors of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) in a launching ceremony of social pension for individuals bound under the labour law here in Phnom Penh early this week.

H.E. Ith Samheng said there will be a 90-day campaign by NSSF to disseminate the obligations and benefits given by the government among owners of factories and enterprises, employees, as well as the private sector at large.

Through the campaign, the owners of factories and enterprises, employees and private sector will understand their obligations and jointly implement pension scheme efficiently.

As Cambodia is developing in all sectors, ensuring social security is vital to provide Cambodian people needful protection, he emphasised.

NSSF will continue its duty to provide a better public service in line with the law on social security, social protection policy framework, and labour and vocational training development strategic plan to ensure the income security, reduce poverty and promote the social stability, he added.
