Cambodia, France Strengthen Banking Cooperation

The National Bank of Cambodia and Bank of France (BDF) have agreed to strengthen their cooperation, promoting international cooperation and exchange mutual experience.

Both signed Memorandum of Cooperation in Singapore on July 14. NBC Governor H.E. Chea Chanto and H.E. François Villeroy de Galhau, BDF Governor were the signatories.

The signed memorandum is aimed to promote human resource capacity development and further strengthen the financial system.

The NBC and BDF have established a strong bilateral relationship on a long-term and trustworthy partnership, H.E. Chea Chanto said.

“The signing of the new Memorandum of Cooperation will further strengthen technical cooperation for the benefit of both sides,” he said.

For his part, H.E. François Villeroy de Galhau said the signed MoU between the BDF and NBC is a new achievement in expanding the long-term relationship between the two central banks.

The two parties emphasised that the Bank of France’s representative Office in Asia will play a key role in promoting the full implementation of the memorandum for the benefit of the two central banks.
