IPTP Supports Cambodia Peace and Food Security Initiative

The 10th plenary session of International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP) in Morocco supported Cambodia’s initiative to create a centre for peace and food science and appointed Cambodian delegate in its leadership role.

The decision was shared in a press release issued on July 18 by the Secretariat General of Cambodian National Assembly (NA).

H.E. Suos Yara, the Chair of the National Assembly Commission on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Propaganda and Information led a Cambodian delegation to attend the IPTP session from July 12 to 16.

According to the release, on behalf of Cambodia, H.E. Suos Yara proposed to the IPTP to create a centre for peace and food science to scientifically research and solidly recommend peace and food security programme implementation where necessary in the world.

The IPTP session supported the initiative and called on the private sector and development partners to contribute to the effort.

It also agreed to appoint H.E. Suos Yara as IPTP vice president and nominated him as a president candidate for 2023.
