Cambodia to Host “Cambodia Night” in Ho Chi Minh City in September


Cambodia will host the “Cambodia Night” at the International Travel Expo in September this year in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

In a statement issued on July 21, the Ministry of Tourism said the “Cambodia Night” will be held at REX Hotel in the evening of Sept. 8 with Cambodian cultural and artistic performance and gala dinner reception for more than 350 people who are the Vietnamese high-ranking leaders, ambassadors, and consulate general of ASEAN and ASEAN plus in Ho Chi Minh City, tour operators and major tourism associations of Vietnam.

“This programme aims to promote the potential of Cambodia’s tourism sector, strengthen the relationship and good cooperation between the Cambodian-Vietnamese private sector, improve the reopening of Cambodia’s tourism sector,” read the statement.

It will also promote Cambodia as a MICE destination and promote “Cambodia as Sports Tourism Destination” through the 2023 SEA Games, the 12th ASEAN Para Games and the 2029 Asian Youth Games hosted by Cambodia, and celebrate the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relation between Cambodia and Vietnam.

The programme will be held on the sidelines of the International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City 2022 (ITE HCMC) scheduled from Sept. 6 to 11, to which the Ministry of Tourism will participate.

More than 300 exhibition booths and 150 buyers from more than 50 countries in the region and worldwide will expectedly turn in the event.

The ministry calls on tourism associations, operators, public-private and development partners to participate to seize the opportunity to promote the sales of Cambodian tour packages in the Vietnamese market.
