European Investment Bank (EIB) is planning to expand its investment in Cambodia, especially on green projects.
The plan was revealed by Mr. Kris Peeters, EIB Vice President during a meeting with H.E. Say Samal, Minister of Environment here in Phnom Penh on Sept. 11.
H.E. Say Samal informed Mr. Kris Peeters of Cambodia’s current situation, including political stability, peace and development in a range of sectors.
Mr. Kris Peeters spoke highly of Cambodia’s effecive COVID-19 response and containment and underlined possible cooperation with the Ministry of Environment on local economic enhancement through buying community products in and around protected areas.
He also underlined EIB’s interest in buying Carbon credit in Cambodia, seeking markets for agricultural products, and promoting renewable energy and green technology investment.
