Cambodia to Rebuild an Inscription Symbolising Cambodia-France Solidarity

The Royal Government of Cambodia will rebuild an inscription, a symbol of solidarity between Cambodia and France, and place it in front of the Embassy of France in Phnom Penh.

The plan was revealed by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia to H.E. Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, at their working dinner held at the Elysée Palace in Paris, France on Dec.13.

The inscription, which dates back to 1925, has been destroyed by the Khmer Rouge in 1977, he said, adding that the reconstruction was made at the request of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction H.E. Chea Sophara.

Regarding the bilateral ties, the Cambodian Premier expressed his pride of the growing relations and cooperation between the two countries and thanked France for its support for Cambodia’s peace-seeking process and reconstruction.

Cambodia and France will mark next year the 70th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties.
