A JMSDF Vessel Pays Three-day Visit in Cambodia


A Japan Maritime Self Defence Force (JMSDF) KIRISAME has been on a three-day visit in Cambodia since Mar. 28.

After the docking at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port (PAS) in Preah Sihanouk province, Commander Maki Takayuki had a courtesy call on H.E. Kuoch Chamroeun, Governor of Preah Sihanouk province.

In the meeting, Mr. Maki Takayuki told the provincial governor of his visit, saying that this is the first port call which has taken during a cruising training activity for junior officers who recently graduated from the Maritime Officer Candidate School.

H.E. Kuoch Chamroeun extended warm welcome to the visit, and expressed his gratitude to the Government and people of Japan for their support for Cambodia, especially Preah Sihanouk coastal province.

He raised Japan-funded deep seaport development project as well as the public lighting in Sihanouk-ville by a Japanese firm (Minebea Cambodia) and so on.

According to the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia, during the three-day port call, the JMSDF and the Royal Cambodian Navy will conduct a number of goodwill exercises to deepen their trust and friendship.
