PM to Give Lecture on Win-Win Policy and National Liberation Process Next Week

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen will give a lecture on the Win-Win policy, which has brought about full peace to Cambodia, as well as on the national liberation process at the Ministry of National Defence on June 20, the Remembrance Day of “Journey to Overthrow the Pol Pot Genocidal Regime”.

The Premier shared the schedule here this morning while visiting some 18,000 factory workers and employees in Khan Pursenchey.

“June 20 is the 46th anniversary of the journey to national liberation. I have to go to the Ministry of National Defence to give a lecture. We won’t go to the border to hold the celebration as usual. […] I’ll talk about the Win-Win policy and my departure and my character in the process of national liberation,” he said.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister re-appealed to his compatriots to join hands in maintaining the hard-earned peace, stressing, “Don’t wait until we lose peace to cry for it.”

On June 20, 1977, at the age of 25 years old, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, along with four comrades, fled Cambodia to Vietnam through Tonloung commune, Memut district, Kampong Cham province (currently Thbong Khmum province), to form a movement to liberate Cambodia and its people. In 1978, Samdech Techo Hun Sen became a founding member of the United Front for the National Salvation of Kampuchea (UFNSK).

In collaboration with other patriotic movements and with the support of Vietnamese volunteer forces, on Jan. 7, 1979, the UFNSK rescued Cambodia and its people from the genocidal regime of Democratic Kampuchea.
