Cambodia, Malaysia Boost Bilateral Agricultural Cooperation


Cambodia and Malaysia will further promote their bilateral cooperation, mainly in the field of agriculture.

The commitment was made in a meeting held here this morning between H.E. Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries and Malaysian Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Datuk Eldeen Husaini Mohd Hashim.

In the meeting, both sides recalled the cooperation on agriculture sector, on which the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding in 2016, and agreed to effectively carry out the MoU for the mutual benefit of the two countries.

They also agreed in principle to pave the way for Malaysian investors who wish to invest in agriculture sector, especially in growing mangoes, pineapple and sugarcane in Cambodia.

H.E. Dith Tina welcomed Malaysia’s intention to import Cambodia rice, particularly white rice and fragrant rice.
