Ministry of Foreign Affairs Confirms PM’s Participation in ASEAN-GCC Summit


The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation this evening confirmed the participation of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, in the ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit on Oct. 20, 2023 in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The forthcoming participation will be made at the invitation of His Majesty the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Accompanying Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet include Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and a senior minister along with some ministers, key government officials, and business figures.

The Summit is a vital platform for the ASEAN and GCC Leaders to explore ways to enhance mutually beneficial spheres of cooperation, including trade and investment, smart cities, energy, counter-terrorism, and tourism.

The Summit will note two outcome documents: (1) Joint Statement of the Summit, and (2) ASEAN-GCC Framework of Cooperation (2024-2028).

On the sidelines of the Summit, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet will engage in bilateral meetings with foreign dignitaries in Riyadh, fostering the bilateral cooperation between Cambodia and the GCC member states.
