Cambodia and Laos have vowed to further promote their education cooperation, specifically the expansion of mutual scholarship provisions for students at both bachelor’s and master’s degree levels.
The pledge was made in a meeting between H.E. Hang Chuon Naron, Minister of Education, Youth, and Sports, and H.E. Buakeo Phumvongsay, Ambassador of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to Cambodia, here in Phnom Penh on Nov. 14.
H.E. Hang Chuon Naron spoke highly of the Lao government’s contribution to Cambodia’s human resources development.
The two sides also exchanged appreciation for intimate relations and good cooperation between the two countries in all sectors, particularly education, culture, tourism, and economy.
From 2000 to 2023, Cambodia has provided scholarships to 192 Lao students, and since 1985, 244 Cambodian students have received Lao scholarships.
