NA President Discusses Cooperation with ICAAP Chair


The President of the Cambodia National Assembly (NA) on Dec. 13 met with H.E. Chung Eui-hyong, the Chair of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea to discuss cooperation.

The NA President, Samdech Moha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, warmly welcomed her high-level guest and thanked ICAPP for supporting Cambodia’s democratic process by sending observers for the country’s elections since 2013.

ICAPP’s fact-based affirmation of Cambodia’s voting contributes significantly to protecting the legitimacy of Cambodia’s elections.

She also spoke highly of ICAPP’s mission in promoting peace and humanitarian interventions globally, especially through partnerships with UNESCO, the Council of African Political Parties (CAPP), Centrist Asia-Pacific Democrats International (CAPDI), and beyond.

H.E. Chung Eui-hyong congratulated Samdech Khuon Sudary on being elected as Cambodia’s first female NA President and commended the free, fair, and transparent 7th National Election of the country as well as the smooth transfer of power through a democratic process.

He wished Cambodia more success in hosting the 12th ICAPP General Assembly, the 3rd Asian Cultural Council (ACC) Meeting, and related meetings in November 2024
