Political party is a main tool to promote peace, stability and cooperation while the world is in uncertainty, high risk of conflicts and wars due to geopolitical competition, as well as non-traditional security threats such as climate change, natural disasters, infectious diseases and cybercrime.
The remark was made by Samdech Moha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of Cambodia’s National Assembly, while hosting a dinner reception for H.E. Chung Eui-yong, Chairperson of the ICAPP Standing Committee and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, here at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel on Dec. 13.
According to Samdech Khuon Sudary, this required the strengthening of cooperation in all fields with all forms to build and ensure peace for the people in the region and the world.
Taking the opportunity, the Cambodian NA president spoke highly of ICAPP’s mission to boost peace and regional cooperation, and the role of political party in bringing prosperity to the people.
For his part, H.E. Chung Eui-yong thanked Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of Cambodian People’s Party (CPP). for his significant contribution to the success of ICAPP.
He once again congratulated and highly appreciated the organisation and success of the July National Assembly Election 2023 of Cambodia, as well as the peaceful and smooth transfer of power from Samdech Techo Hun Sen to current Premier Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, which has shown the political maturity and democratic process in Cambodia.
He strongly believed that under the leadership of Samdech Khuon Sudary and well-educated and energetic Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Cambodia would grow faster and the prestige of Cambodia would be widely recognised at international stage.
A total of 350 political parties from 52 countries have joined the ICAPP founded in 2000.
