Cambodian Cashew Nuts and Pepper Appreciated by Japanese


Japanese companies intend to import more Cambodian products, particularly cashew nuts and pepper.

The intention was shared by H.E. Imamura Masahiro, Chairperson of Japan-Cambodia Parliamentary Friendship Association while paying a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet in Tokyo this morning, on the sidelines of the ASEAN-Japan Commemorative Summit for the 50th Year ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation.

He also informed Samdech Thipadei of the activities of the Japan-Cambodia Parliamentary Friendship Association as well as its close cooperation with the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Japan to further strengthen both countries’ cooperation, especially in a number of priority areas, including agriculture, health, energy, mine and UXO clearance.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet spoke highly of the relationship between Cambodia and Japan, saying that the two countries mark this year the 70th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties.

The year 2023 is also a special year that Cambodia and Japan upgraded their bilateral relations to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership, he underlined.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet reaffirmed the 7th-mandate Royal Government’s commitment to continue to maintain the sustainability and consistency of the existing relationship and to cultivate and develop this excellent relationship even more strongly.
