Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet received here at the Peace Palace this morning visiting Prof. Jeffrey D. Sachs, Director of the Centre for Sustainable Development at Columbia University and President of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network.
On the occasion, Prof. Jeffrey D. Sachs reaffirmed his commitment and readiness to share with Cambodia his experience and concepts regarding sustainable development, renewable energy development, and green economy, etc.
The American economist will take part in a workshop on Climate Resilience and Energy Transition in Cambodia as a guest speaker, during his stay in the Kingdom.
In response, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed warm welcome to the visit of Prof. Jeffrey D. Sachs and his spouse, and thanked him for being the guest speaker at the workshop to be organised by the Economic, Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) at the Office of the Council of Ministers on Jan. 11 with the participation of some 400 Cambodian senior officials and experts.
At the same time, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed his conviction that Cambodian senior officials and experts will have the opportunity to learn more and discuss directly with the professor.
