PM Calls for More Reform and Modernisation of Armed Forces

The Royal Government of Cambodia will further pay high attention to the military reform and armed forces modernisation, said this morning Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet.

Addressing the celebration of the 25th founding anniversary of the Royal Cambodian Army Command (Jan. 24, 1999 – Jan. 24, 2024) in Khan Kambol, Phnom Penh, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said military reform and armed forces modernisation have been done step by step and will continue to respond to new missions and new demands.

“The armed forces are very important, peace and war are all caused by them, so they play a key role in the process of national development and peace,” he underlined.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet added that Royal Government’s defence policy is to ensure the country’s peace and to build opportunities for sustainable national development.

Armed forces are one of the keys for peace, political stability, and economic growth that Cambodia is experiencing today.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet instructed the armed forces to continue to focus on their reform under the nationalism spirit.
