Ministry Discusses Digitalisation of Census Results with EU

The Ministry of Planning has sought technical support from the European Union (EU) for its digitalisation of the results of new censuses and surveys.

The request was made in a meeting on Feb. 19 at the ministry between H.E. Bin Trachhey, Minister of Planning, and H.E. Igor Driesmans, EU Ambassador to Cambodia.

H.E. Bin Trachhey informed the EU ambassador that the ministry plans to digitise the results of the censuses and surveys in 2024, so the technical and ICT support from the EU will contribute significantly to the digitalisation process.

H.E. Igor Driesmans pledged to study the minister’s request and provide support for the ministry’s efforts in promoting its human resources in charge of the National Institute of Statistics.

The EU ambassador spoke highly of Cambodia’s effective and timely response to the COVID-19 pandemic and smooth recovery in all sectors.
