PM Fully Supports Cambodia’s Host of Asian Youth Para Games 2029


Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, expressed his full support to the Kingdom’s host of the 6th Asian Youth Para Games, following the 5th Asian Youth Games in 2029.

At the inauguration ceremony of different achievements of the Techo Sen National Centre of Disabled Persons and the National Paralympic Committee of Cambodia this morning, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet praised the Cambodian para-athletes’ capacity, saying that they have been done well at the international and regional arenas.

H.E. Yi Veasna, Vice President of the ASEAN Para Sports Federation, said Cambodian para-athletes have so far won 261 medals from different regional and international para games, including 38 golds, 108 silvers, and 115 bronzes.

Cambodia was authorised by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) to host the 5th Asian Youth Games following a decision at OCA’s 40th General Assembly in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Nov. 21, 2021.

Sport contingents from 45 Asian countries are expected to join the 2029 Asian Youth Games.
