The Cambodian Mine Action Management Information System (MIS) was launched on Mar. 20 to facilitate the efficiency and effectiveness of mine action operations in Cambodia.
The initiative focuses on field operation information management equipped with new functions that further support the MIS core mission.
Senior Minister H.E. Ly Thuch, First Vice President of the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA), was optimistic about the move in combating mines and explosive remnants of war in Cambodia.
This stands as another milestone for Cambodia before hosting the 5th Review Conference of the Mine Ban Treaty, the Siem Reap Angkor Summit on a Mine-Free World, to be held in late November this year in Siem Reap province.
The system is a symbol of the technological revolution and a testament to our joint mission in demining using modern technology to respond to the challenges of mine action and the preparation of any strategic plans, said H.E. Ly Thuch.
He added that this reflects Cambodia’s strong and unwavering commitment to addressing mine and ERW issues as well as promoting the efficiency and effectiveness of world humanitarian work.
