Cambodia, UAE to Promote Bilateral Cooperation in Various Areas


Cambodia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will continue to foster their bilateral cooperation in various areas ranging from trade and investment to energy and tourism.

This is the spirit of the meeting here at the Peace Palace this morning between Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, and H.E. Obaid Bintaresh Aldhaheri, Ambassador of UAE to Cambodia.

Both sides lauded the progress of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and UAE, especially the achievement of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), an important agreement to strengthen cooperation between both nations.

H.E. Ambassador pledged to do his utmost to continue strengthening and expanding the bilateral cooperation in many areas, including trade, investment, infrastructure, transportation, agriculture, energy and tourism during his diplomatic mission in Cambodia.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said that investment in the sectors of infrastructure, clean energy, tourism, agriculture, and technology is a priority of the Royal Government of Cambodia in achieving growth, employment, equity, efficiency and sustainability to develop a resilient and inclusive Cambodia.

The Cambodian Premier also laid stress on the importance of tourism, pointing out that the Royal Government has launched measures to encourage and promote tourism, and through the good cooperation between Cambodia and UAE, he is confident that the number of tourists will see further increase.
Samdech Thipadei encouraged H.E. Obaid Bintaresh Aldhaheri to continue to cooperate with the Cambodian ministries and institutions, especially to promote cooperation between the two countries in the fields of trade, investment, tourism and other potential areas.
