The Cambodian Ministry of Commerce has shared the Kingdom’s economic development experience with a delegation of the Timor-Leste Leadership Programme for young and future leaders, headed by the Third Secretary of the Embassy of Timor-Leste to Cambodia, Mrs. Laura Mizela Da Costa.
In the meeting here on May 27, H.E. TAT Puthsodary, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce, extended a warm welcome to the delegation and provided insights into the Royal Government of Cambodia’s endeavours to restore peace and political stability that serve as the foundation for fostering economic growth.
H.E. Secretary of State also highlighted the government’s commitment to implementing a robust macroeconomic framework, including the National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP), Pentagonal Strategy Phase I, and various policies targeted at poverty reduction, human resources development, and the integration of Cambodia into regional and global production networks with the aim of boosting its industrial competitiveness and export diversification.
In response, the Timor-Leste delegation expressed gratitude to H.E. Secretary of State and his team members for sharing the remarkable achievements made by the Royal Government of Cambodia in developing the country from scratch and elevating Cambodia’s stature on the international stage.
The delegation also provided an overview of the background and vision of the Timor-Leste Leadership Programme, as well as an outline of Timor-Leste’s National Development Plan for the period 2011–2030.
