The International Labor Organisation (ILO) is an indispensable partner of Cambodia in promoting sustainable employment.
During a meeting in Switzerland on June 11 with ILO Director General H.E. Gilbert F. Houngbo, Cambodian Minister of Labour and Vocational Training H.E. Heng Sour emphasised the necessity for the ILO to continue assisting Cambodia as a dialogue partner to promote social dialogue mechanisms, harmonisation in the workplace, as well as strengthening productivity in Cambodia’s production chain.
Besides, H.E. Minister mentioned the efforts of the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) to continue to develop the nation in order to provide decent jobs with social security system and specific skills for the people. In addition, he highlighted the RGC’s efforts to improve the working environment in industrial relations in Cambodia.
H.E. Gilbert F. Houngbo highly appreciated the steady progress of Cambodia over the past 15 years, especially in the fields of labour, vocational training and social protection.
Cambodia became a member of the ILO in 1969.
