Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet this morning announced that the descendants of veterans will have a priority to be in the armed forces, especially at the local level.
Addressing the celebration of the 17th anniversary of Cambodian Veterans Day held here at the National Defence University, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said that at least 50 to 60 percent of the new recruitment of armed forces is reserved for the veterans’ descendants.
The Premier also took the opportunity to reaffirm that all veterans will continue to get the support from the Royal Government of Cambodia.
“The honour, livelihood, and opportunities of veterans will continue to be taken care of as long as the Cambodian People’s Party leads the country,” he underlined.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also shared some remarks on the veterans’ masterpieces and their sacrifice for the peace and development of Cambodia.
According to the Prime Minister, a total of 109,034 veterans and 149,053 dependents are currently receiving monthly social security fund from the government.
