Cambodia Sets Mar. 19 as National Day of Social Affairs


Cambodia has set Mar. 19 every year as the National Day of Social Affairs to increase the value and raise the public knowledge on social affairs in Cambodia.

The Royal Government made the decision in a sub-decree signed by Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet on July 10, but released to the media today.

According to the sub-decree, the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation is instructed to organise the annual celebration in cooperation with the Office of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Economy and Finance and other relevant ministries and institutions as well as the Association of Professional Social Workers of Cambodia, local and foreign NGOs, and other stakeholders.

Besides, all ministries, institutions, sub-national administrations, civil society organisations, local and foreign NGOs, social work educational institutions, the Association of Professional Social Workers of Cambodia and the private sector are required to take part in instilling social work and social service force in the public.
