Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate and President of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), held talks with Vietnamese President H.E. To Lam, in Hanoi, Vietnam this morning, according to TVK’s special reporter.
In the meeting, H.E. To Lam expressed his profound thanks to Samdech Techo Hun Sen and his delegation for coming to Hanoi to pay their last tribute to late H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, who passed away on July 19, 2024 at the age of 80 years old.
H.E. To Lam also expressed his gratitude to His Majesty the King and Prime Minister of Cambodia as well as other Cambodian leaders for their condolence messages over the loss of H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong.
The Vietnamese president spoke highly of Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s participation in the funeral ceremony of H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong until July 26, which shows that the over-a-decade friendship between Samdech Techo and H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong is very valuable.
As the new President of Vietnam, H.E. To Lam will continue to do his best to further boost the cooperation between Cambodia and Vietnam, as well as between Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos.
